A 13-year-old boy, identified as Bernardo Lucas de Araújo, was found dead this Thursday afternoon (03), in an apartment in Bairro Guanabara, North region of Belo Horizonte.
According to the MG Civil Police, an investigation team and another from technical expertise went to the scene. The boy had autism spectrum disorder and depended on his mother’s care.
The boy’s body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for autopsy examinations. The cause of death is being investigated. A police investigation has been launched, and the police are awaiting the results of the expert reports.
Bernardo was the son of Heddy Lamar de Araújo, 42 years old, who was also found dead in a pasture area in the New York neighborhood, in the city of Vespasiano, metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, on September 25th.
According to the police, the investigation and forensic teams were also on site to collect elements that should assist in the investigations. The victim showed signs of violence with injuries to the head and back of the neck.
The police reported that the victim’s identity was only confirmed on Thursday (03) after expert work by the IML. With information about her identity, the police found that the woman had been missing since the day of her death. It was then that the police went to the address where she lived and found her son’s body.
A police inquiry to investigate the woman’s murder has also been launched. According to the Civil Police, more information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
