Mother and son graduate from college together; it’s never too late to fulfill dreams

It is never too late to fulfill your dreams. If you have the will and perseverance to do it, you will see that you can achieve it. That is the lesson that a great woman taught her children and many other people.

Tyra Muhammad is a woman who despite the adversities of life, has fulfilled one of her greatest dreams: finishing her university studies and now shares this achievement with her children.

From a young age I dreamed of going to university

Tyra is a 46-year-old woman, lives in Louisiana, United States and is the mother of five children. When she was just 19 years old, she began her studies at Grambling State University as a nursing assistant. However, when she was just a few months after entering, she met the one who became her husband and suddenly became pregnant, for which she was forced to pause her university education.

In spite of everything, she wanted to finish her career

This woman believed that she would pause her studies for a couple of years, but she did not, because when she least thought about it, she was already the mother of five children, who needed all her attention. But after parting ways with her husband, nearly three decades after dropping out of school, she decided it was time to go back to the classroom.

His dream was about to come true

When she decided to finish her studies, three of her children were also attending university, so first of all, she consulted with them, who from the beginning supported and encouraged her to fulfill her dream.

I thought I was too old to do it, too old to go back to school and be back on campus, but my kids encouraged me and were there for me.

Although none of her children were studying the same career as her, it was important for Tyra to have her support and that they did not feel spied on or controlled by the fact that her mother also attended high school.

With perseverance and will everything is possible

After a great effort and the support she received from her children, teachers and friends, today Tyra has finished her professional studies. She is completely grateful, knowing that despite the difficulties she faced, she always had the firm intention of completing what she began so long ago.

I always wanted to get my degree and I also wanted to be an example for my children in terms of the importance of education. Perseverance is very important. If you have a goal to achieve, just do it.
