The mother of the Colombian children, who were missing in the jungle for 40 days, survived for four days after the plane crash. The information was revealed by the children’s father, Manuel Ranoque. He stated that the information was given by Lesly, the oldest girl, aged 13.
“The only thing she (Lesly) told me is that her mother was alive for four days, so before she died her mother told them that maybe she would ‘go away [para sempre]’, you have your father, you know the love he has for you”, said Ranoque, in a press conference.
Ranoque said he has not been able to get any more news due to the health status of the children, who are not in danger but need care.
“It’s not so easy to ask, because the children spent 40 days without eating well, without being able to sleep well, so I didn’t have the opportunity to get much information”, said Ranoque.
Children will tell their own story about the ordeal, said the father of the two younger brothers this Sunday (11). The children, aged 1 to 13, survived a plane crash on May 1 that killed their mother and two other adults and were found on Friday (9) in Caquetá province after weeks of searches by the military and indigenous communities. .
The ordeal began at dawn, when the Cessna 206 aircraft, with seven people, flying between Araracuara airport, in Caquetá, and San José del Guaviare, a city in the province of Guaviare, issued a distress alert due to engine failure. .
“They will tell their stories and you will listen to them,” said Manuel Ranoque, after visiting them at the military hospital in Bogotá.
