Mother who investigates sex crimes reveals: The five things her children are forbidden to do

A police officer who specializes in child sex crimes has gone viral when she shared online the five rules she applies to her own children to keep them safe from pedophiles.

Terra Avilla frequently posts information related to child abuse and domestic violence on TikTok. Her latest videos mother of three children, however, caused a debate, as she mentioned the five things her children are forbidden to do.

Avilla, who is based in Connecticut, USA, noted that while some of the advice may be surprising, it is based on years of experience on the job.

So the first rule for her children is that they are forbidden to go to sleep in other houses. “I get a lot of hate for it,” she says in her first video, explaining that it’s not worth the risk. “You don’t know who’s going to be there or who might slip out in the night.”

Rule number two: Her children are banned from using Snapchat as there are a large number of those who use the popular app to seduce their young victims.

She notes that the app is also extremely risky for revealing your location and because kids mistakenly believe that photos sent can be permanently deleted.

“Nothing good comes of this application,” he says.

Third ruleaccording to the police officer, is that she never forces her children to hug or kiss anyone – including family and friends.

According to her, it is important to understand that children can consent to physical contact. “I know it sounds bad, but it’s their body and if they don’t want to hug someone then they have that right to set their boundaries.”

The first three rules generated interest online and a second video followed.

There is a big difference between a secret and a surprise. “Kids need to learn that, that an adult outside the home shouldn’t tell a child to keep a secret,” she said, adding that it’s only acceptable to keep a secret from a friend if it will protect them.

End, says she doesn’t allow her kids to use “silly names for their private parts,” insisting they use the correct anatomical terms. This makes it easier for them to explain a situation to the Authorities if something ever goes wrong.

The videos were flooded with comments, with many parents expressing their gratitude for the list. “pediatrician in NICU and mom here, I agree with you on everything,” wrote one user, while another added: “I feel the same way about sleeping in another house, it will never happen.”
