A little less than two months ago he had surprisingly announced that he had become a father again; but after the joy for the new born Robert DeNiro must now face a serious mourning. The 19-year-old nephew Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, son of 51-year-old Drena (whom the actor adopted when he was 9) and artist Carlos Rodriguez, he died suddenly. To break the news, with a heartbreaking post on Instagram, it was Drena herself, who however did not disclose the causes of her son’s death. “My beautiful sweet angel – reads the post – I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. In the touching social post, the daughter of the Oscar-winning actor continues by saying that «I wish I was in your place. I don’t know how to live without you, but I will try to go ahead and spread the love and light you showed me by being your mother. You were so deeply loved and loved that I wished that love alone could have saved you.”

For the moment there is still no official comment from grandfather Robert De Niro, whose nephew Leandro had followed in the footsteps. An emerging actor, Leandro had appeared in small parts in the film A Star Is Born of 2018, in Cabaret Maxime in the same year and earlier in The Collection of 2005.
