Boston Dynamics’ Spot Robot is back with a new dance number, showcasing its capabilities to the music of The Rolling Stones. Spot is shown side by side with Mick Jagger, whose movements are followed by the robot.
The new video, which Boston Dynamics called Spot Me Up, shows several units of robotic dogs that mimic the movements of other members of the musical group. One was even played for a drum kit.
A mechanized “hand” is installed on top, which is perceived as a long neck with a large mouth at the end. With this tool, Spot performs tasks such as opening a door by turning the handle.
Boston Dynamics often demonstrates the capabilities of its robots, and Spot has long been used by various companies. Boston Dynamics was acquired by automotive giant Hyundai Motor Group for $ 1.1 billion. In September, Hyundai announced that it had begun testing Spot robots at its Kia plant in South Korea.
