Moving average of Covid-19 deaths grows for the first time since February 20

Brazil recorded, in the last 24 hours, 68,893 cases and 488 deaths from Covid-19. The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Tuesday (8).

The moving average of deaths fell for 14 consecutive days and had stabilized yesterday, reaching 430. Today, the number rose for the first time since February 20 and stands at 457 – an increase of 6.2% compared to Last day.

The moving average of new cases reached 46,742 — 16% more than yesterday, which marked the break of 25 uninterrupted days of decline.

The moving averages consider the average of the numbers recorded in the last seven days and serve to monitor the indicators of the pandemic without any distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends, but not necessarily on holidays throughout the week – as was the case with Carnival in last week.

In all, the country accounts for 652,829 deaths and 29,138,362 cases related to the coronavirus.
