Moving average of Covid cases grows 124% in one month

Brazil recorded 307 deaths and 71,045 cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours, according to data from the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass), released this Tuesday (6).

The seven-day moving average of cases was 35,304. This number represents a growth of 124% in one month. The indicator on May 7 was 15,756.

The moving average of deaths was 96 this Tuesday.

Moving averages consider the variation of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days. These numbers allow the monitoring of the epidemiological situation without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends or problems in accessing the databases.

With the update, the country accounts for 667,348 fatalities and 31,266,163 infections from the disease.

Six states did not notify new data on deaths to Conass due to problems with accessing the information system’s databases, so the same numbers as yesterday were kept. They are: Alagoas, Amazonas, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Piauí and Sergipe.
