Brazil recorded 677 deaths and 69,769 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) this Friday (4).
Since February 10, the country has shown a drop in the moving average of cases, which reached 43,365. The number represents a 50% drop from last Friday’s moving average, when the index was at 87,340.
The moving average of deaths reached 442 – the lowest number since January 27, when the index stood at 411.
Moving averages consider the average of the numbers recorded in the last seven days and serve to monitor the indicators of the pandemic without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends, but do not necessarily avoid distortions caused by possible underreporting on holidays, such as Carnival.
The country has reached 651,255 deaths from the disease and 28,973,799 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020.
