Moving average of Covid cases in Brazil rises 82.4% in one month

The moving average of new Covid-19 cases in seven days increased by 82.4% in Brazil in one month. The indicator, which was at 12,434 on April 27, rose to 22,676, according to data released this Friday (27) by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass).

In relation to the absolute number of cases, the amount almost doubled in the same period, from 20,943 to 40,633 (an increase of 94%).

The moving average of deaths, however, has not risen at the same rate in a month. The increase was 18%, from 100 to 118. In the last 24 hours, the country recorded 139 deaths linked to Covid-19.

This Friday’s update does not include new data from Acre, due to technical problems in accessing the systems’ information base. In this way, the same numbers as the previous day were kept.

In all, the country accounts for 30,921,145 cases and 666,319 deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
