Moving average of Covid infections drops 40% in one month

The moving average of Covid-19 cases, which considers the last seven days, fell by 40% in a month, according to data released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass), this Friday (29). The indicator, which was 56,021 on June 29, stood at 33,596 today.

This index serves to monitor the indicators of the epidemiological situation in the country without possible distortions caused by underreporting on weekends.

In the last 24 hours, the states reported 41,713 new infections by the disease, according to Conass.

With regard to the average number of deaths, the indicator has been above 200 for more than a month. This Friday the index stood at 221.

Of the 244 fatal victims of Covid-19 in Brazil in the last 24 hours, 71 were in the state of São Paulo, 36 in Minas Gerais and 24 in Paraná.

With the update, the country has reached 33,790,698 infections and 678,310 deaths from the disease since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
