Moving average of deaths by Covid in Brazil is below 200 this Saturday (2)

Brazil recorded 106 deaths and 17,062 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) on Saturday (2).

The moving average of deaths in 24 hours reached 192, the lowest level since January 18, when the index was 183.

The average number of cases reached 22,864 – the lowest since January 6 (15,670), before the outbreak of infections caused by the Ômicron variant in the country.

The indices consider the average number of infections and deaths recorded in the last seven days. The data allow monitoring of the pandemic indicators without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends.

In all, the country has recorded 660,108 deaths and 29,992,227 cases of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

Government stops requiring quarantine for travelers not vaccinated against Covid-19

The federal government published on Friday (1st) an ordinance that updates rules for travelers to enter the country. According to the document, the mandatory quarantine requirement for those who arrive in the country by air and who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 is no longer valid. Read more.
