Moving average of deaths has been falling for seven consecutive days

Brazil recorded 373 deaths and 45,472 cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The data were released by the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass), this Friday (18)

The moving average of deaths, in uninterrupted decline since March 11, reached 320.

The average number of cases, also falling, is 38,285.

Moving averages are indices that consider the average number of infections and victims recorded in the last seven days. The data allow monitoring of the pandemic indicators without possible distortions caused by possible underreporting on weekends.

In all, the country has recorded 656,798 deaths and 29,573,112 cases of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

In an interview with CNN, the state secretary of Health of São Paulo, Jean Gorinchteyn, said that the fourth dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 should be made available to the entire population in the future.
