Mozilla Corporation bought developers of immersive technologies Active Replica

The developer of the Mozilla Firefox browser intends to actively develop projects in the Web3 industry and the metaverse.

Mozilla Corporation has acquired technology company Active Replica, which creates immersive technologies – in virtual and augmented reality. The company will join the Mozilla Hubs virtual world platform to create in-game events. Active Replica has previously partnered with Mozilla for Mozfest.

According to Mozilla’s announcement, the acquisition will help develop personalized subscription levels across the platform, as well as improve user experience and add new features to the entire system. Mozilla representatives are confident that Active Replica can significantly advance the web developer in technical terms, and Mozilla itself is ready to sponsor Active’s ideas and developments. At the same time, Active Replica will be able to continue working with existing partners and perform previously assigned tasks.

The day after the announcement, Mozilla announced that it had also acquired machine learning company Pulse.

“In order to create high-quality machine learning models, we need data about our users’ preferences, behaviors and activities on the Internet. Therefore, Mozilla will try to be very careful about the use of machine learning in our products, ”the message says.

Earlier, Opera Software, which developed the Opera browser, announced that the new version of Crypto Browser supports several popular blockchains at once, including Ethereum, Polygon and Ronin.
