MP calls for a psychiatric hospitalization of women for chasing dentist in SC

The Public Prosecution Service of Santa Catarina (MPSC) requested the court to convert the custody of a woman accused of persecution, threat and disobedience against a couple in Itapema, in the northern coast of the state, in provisional hospitalization.

The request was made after an expert report indicated that the accused suffers from psychotic disorder and is unimputable – that is, unable to understand the illicit character of her acts.

According to the report, produced after incident of mental insanity requested by the 2nd Prosecutor of the District of Itapema, the woman presents non -organic psychotic disorder, with impairment of the perception of reality and risk of reiteration of conduct if she does not receive proper treatment.

Given the conclusions, prosecutor Leonardo Fagotti Mori requested the replacement of the prison with security measure, with hospitalization in a reference hospital of the public network.

The Public Prosecution Service stressed that the criminal action must follow its course. “The stifling condition does not mean automatic acquittal,” said the prosecutor.

Case

According to investigations, the persecution began about five years ago, after the accused conducts an appointment with a dentist in Itapema. From then on, she would have developed a fictitious love relationship with the professional.

When he started dating another woman, he was also the target of attacks, offenses and threats – often made through false profiles on social networks and electronic messages.

The accused came to appear clandestinely to the residence and places frequented by the victims, making mention of their professional activities.

Preventive arrest was decreed on February 3 this year after the woman breached precautionary measures imposed in January. Among them were the prohibition of any contact with the victims and the obligation to maintain a minimum distance of 200 meters.

Even aware of the determinations, she published on social networks a text with slanderous and offensive quotes to the victims, including an attachment of a copy of the court decision. He would also have sent dozens of email to the dentist.

Given the seriousness of the facts and the non -compliance with judicial measures, the court complied with the MPSC request for custody. Now the prosecution seeks to replace it with psychiatric hospitalization.
