Members of the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais carried out this Thursday (26) an operation against leaders of the criminal faction Comando Vermelho who operated in MG.
According to the MP-RJ, the group is responsible for facilitating the entry of cell phones into prisons in Rio and Minas. The agents discovered the existence of at least four groups of the faction in MG, which operated in both states.
Seven people were charged with armed criminal organization, active corruption and entry, promotion or facilitation of cell phones in prisons.
In this operation, agents carry out seven preventive arrest warrants, one of them against the leader of the criminal faction in Minas Gerais, who is arrested in Rio de Janeiro, and 12 search and seizure warrants, simultaneously, in the city of Rio de Janeiro and MuriaƩ, Juiz de Fora and Cataguases, in the interior of Minas Gerais.
