The Public Prosecution Service of Pernambuco reported to court last Thursday (8) the woman pointed out as responsible for the death of boy Arthur Ramos, only 2 years old. The crime occurred on February 16 this year, in Tabira, in the state’s backlands, and gained national repercussion for the extreme violence committed against the child.
The accused, Giselda da Silva Andrade, was denounced for qualified homicide, rape of vulnerable and torture. The cause of Arthur’s death was mechanical asphyxiation associated with head trauma. “In the file that the victim was reiterated and cruelly subjected to physical aggression, abuse, care and sexual abuse,” the prosecutor’s statement.
According to information obtained by CNN Arthur lived under the care of Giselda and her companion, Antonio Lopes. Both were responsible for the child, although there was no direct family bond.
After the boy’s death, Giselda and Antonio were located and arrested in rural Carnaíba (PE). On the way to the police station, Antonio was removed from the car by popular and lynched. Giselda is still in prison and available to justice.
Witnesses heard during the investigation reported a history of abuse against Arthur. “The accused had a systematic conduct of violence against the victim, using his position as guardian to actually apply cruel and unjustifiable physical punishments,” the prosecution said.
The Public Prosecution Service now awaits the receipt of the complaint by the judiciary
