The São Paulo Public Ministry, through the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (GAECO) and the Mairiporã Public Prosecutor’s Office, reported, this Thursday (18), 20 members of Mancha Alviverde for the ambush against Cruzeiro fans who left one dead in October this year.
The prosecutors understood that the Palmeiras residents assumed the risk of homicidal outcome for a bad reason and using cruel means and means that could result in common danger. The complaint highlighted that the action made it difficult for the victim to defend himself by:
- Numerical superiority;
- Planning and executing the ambush in order to attack the victims during the early hours of the morning, when they were resting on public transport buses, making it difficult to react;
- Blocking the bus route which forced public vehicles to stop when surrounded by the “delinquent crowd”.
Cruzeirense José Vitor Miranda dos Santos, 30 years old, died from traumatic brain injury due to blows from a blunt instrument, on the Fernão Dias highway, according to the ministry.
Remember the case
The ambush took place on October 27, when fans from Minas Gerais were returning to Belo Horizonte (MG), after a game against Athletico Paranaense, in Curitiba (PR).
One of the buses with Cruzeiro fans was set on fire and the other was vandalized. In addition to the fan who died, others 17 were injured . According to the police, iron bars, pieces of wood, fireworks and firecrackers were seized at the scene.
Until now, 15 people suspected of involvement in the attack have already been arrested by the police .
