The Public Prosecutor’s Office of São Paulo filed a complaint with the courts against the man suspected of killing the owner of the Malta Rock Bar, located in the Mirandópolis neighborhood, in the southern part of the capital. The crime took place on the 15th of last month.
Carlos “Nenê” Monteiro was 58 years old and died after being stabbed with a knife.
According to investigations, the accused was upset and bothering other people in the bar when he was questioned by “Nenê” about his behavior and for carrying a pocket knife.
At that moment, Diego de Almeida Pereira, 34, attacked the victim with a blow to the neck.
People who were at the scene restrained and disarmed the suspect until the police arrived.
In the complaint, the Prosecutor’s Office also highlighted that the crime was committed for a futile reason and with means that made it difficult for the victim to defend himself, which “characterizes disregard for human life”.
