MP files appeal to ask for extension of Flordelis sentence

The Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor’s Office filed an appeal to request that the sentence of former federal deputy Flordelis be extended. On November 13th, she was sentenced to 50 years and 28 days in prison, accused of being responsible for the death of her husband, Pastor Anderson do Carmo.

The prosecution also requested that the sentence be increased for Simone dos Santos, Flordelis’ biological daughter, sentenced to 31 years and four months in prison for the crime.

The appeal still demands the annulment of the sentence that acquitted three defendants: Marzy Teixeira and André Luiz de Oliveira, the former deputy’s affectionate children, and Rayane dos Santos, Flordelis’ biological granddaughter.

THE CNN sought the defense of those cited and awaits response.

roles in crime

The Public Ministry alleges that the acquittals are totally inconsistent with the evidence and that witnesses for the prosecution present at the forum were submitted to testimonies by videoconference.

In addition, according to the complaint, the three acquitted persons would have been fundamental to the crime within the established division of tasks.

Marzy and Rayane would have helped Flordelis in planning the crime and also in convincing Flávio dos Santos and Lucas dos Santos, Flordelis’ biological and emotional children, respectively, to participate in the crime.

The first was sentenced for having shot Pastor Anderson do Carmo and the second for helping to buy the gun.

The MP also points out that Marzy and André would have tried to kill Anderson previously, putting poison in the victim’s food and drinks.

Anderson do Carmo was shot dead in 2019, in the garage of the family home, in Niterói, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro.
