MP-RJ asks for revocation of the relaxation of Monique Medeiros prison

The Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ) appealed, this Friday (8), against the decision of the Justice that granted house arrest to Monique Medeiros. She and former councilor Jairo Souza Santos Júnior, known as Dr. Jairinho, were denounced by the MP-RJ for murder triply qualified for the death of 4-year-old boy Henry Borel.

The appeal made this Friday (8) points out that, after her release, on Tuesday (5), Monique failed to comply with the determination of Justice and became involved in posts published on her social networks. The MP mentions that the removal of the networks, “whatever they are”, was one of the conditions for the release of the defendant, under penalty of re-establishing the prison order.

In the document, the Public Prosecutor’s Office states that, although one of the reasons alleged for the relaxation of the prison was Monique’s report about threats inside the prison, there is no news of physical violence against the detainee.

To justify the incarceration, the MP cites that, before being arrested, she coerced Henry’s nanny to delete messages that showed her knowledge of the aggressions suffered by her son.

“Such expedient demonstrates the defendant’s willingness to hinder the collection of evidence, given that this collection, in the case of a process involving the Jury Court, lasts until the day of the trial in plenary. There was no change in relation to this scenario, which in itself already authorizes the maintenance of Monique’s prison”, says the appeal.
