MP-RJ calls for conviction of accused for fire in Flamengo CT

The Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecution Service asked the court to convict the accused of the fire at the Flamengo Training Center, the Urubu Nest in 2019, which killed ten teenagers, who played in the club’s base categories, and wounds three others.

Among the victims are Athila Paixão (14 years), Arthur Vinícius (14), Bernardo Pisetta (14), Christian Esmério (15), Gedson Santos (14), Jorge Eduardo Santos (15), Pablo Henrique (14), Rykelmo de Souza (16), Samuel Thomas Rosa (15) and Vitor Isaiah (15).

In addition to these, 16 young people were on site at the time of the fire, but they escaped alive.

Three other young people, Jhonata Ventura, Dyogo Alves and Cauan Emanuel were injured, but recovered and still linked to football.

For the MP, the set of evidence proved the responsibility of the accused in the case, in addition to the “interference” of the place. The allegations are in a document obtained by the CNN .

Flamengo has agreement with nine families

Flamengo agreed with nine of the ten families of the victims who died in the Urubu Nest fire. The exception is with the family of Christian Esmério, who did not accept the value proposed by the club for compensation and is still in court.

On the eve of the accident turns five, Flamengo’s board was positioned through a note, which stressed that it provides financial and psychological assistance to families.
