MPF asks Caixa to clarify possible harm to RS candidates in competition

The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) asked Caixa Econômica Federal to clarify whether the suspension of the public competition only in Rio Grande do Sul, due to the floods, could not end up violating the equality of competition between candidates. The test was scheduled for May 26th, across the country.

Caixa has 48 hours, from this Monday (13), the date on which it was notified, to provide the information. The response must contain all the reasons for the postponement, so that the MPF can understand the reasons for the restriction and guarantee equal participation among registered candidates.

The competition has 1.2 million candidates across Brazil, of which 47 thousand would take the test in Rio Grande do Sul. In the rest of the country, according to Caixa, the competition is maintained. There are more than 4 thousand secondary and higher education places. Starting salaries range from R$3,762 to R$14,915, in addition to benefits.

The MPF defends the postponement of the competition in Rio Grande do Sul until the situation of public calamity in the State is normalized, since there is still “no safe place to take the tests”. However, he states that care needs to be taken so that certain candidates are not disadvantaged in relation to others.
