Ethniki Asfalistiki welcomes Achilleas Sofroniou as Chief Investment Officer to its staff
According to the announcement, Mr. Sofroniou comes from London, with 16 years of service in the field of global markets and specialization in the insurance sector while he has experience in managing portfolios in different regulatory frameworks and jurisdictions (eg Solvency II, FINMA , Bermuda).
As head of Lloyd’s of London’s investment team, Achilles Sofroniou had not only the responsibility of managing the portfolio but also the regulatory and supervisory responsibility of Lloyd’s market members regarding investments.
Its recruitment in National Insurance is expected to further enhance the work of the existing unit as well as to contribute to the optimization of the portfolio of National Insurance in this new capital of the Company.
Mr. Sofroniou studied at Imperial College, obtaining a postgraduate degree as a Mechanical Engineer and holds an MSc in Finance from Bayes Business School. He is also a CFA charterholder.
