Amazon Prime Video released this Thursday (11) the trailer for “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”, a series inspired by the 2005 film and starring Donald Glover (from “Atlanta”) and Maya Erskine (from “PEN15”).
The series created by Glover and Francesca Sloan — who previously worked together as writers on “Atlanta” — hits streaming on February 2nd.
In this version of the blockbuster 2000s film starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, two lonely strangers get jobs at a spy agency that offers a life of wealth and world travel, as long as they get married and assume John's identities ( Donald Glover) and Jane Smith (Maya Erskine).
Married, the two begin to carry out high-risk missions every week, while trying to adapt to their new relationship.
In the trailer, it is also possible to see Wagner Moura in one of the scenes. The Brazilian is part of the series' cast alongside other starred names, such as Michaela Coel (from “I May Destroy You”), John Turturro (from “The Big Lebowski”), Paul Dano (from “The Batman”) and Sarah Paulson (from “American Horror Story”).
