Mr. Pierrakakis: This year we will auction 90% of the digital works included in ‘Greece 2.0’

ND Political Academy on the progress in the digitization of the state mechanism was held with the Minister of State and Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis as the keynote speaker, in the context of the academies that are held with the aim of highlighting the government work by thematic area and the continuous ones.

The Academy, which was coordinated by the ND Press Representative for the Regional Media Elena Sokou, was attended by members of the party’s Political Committee, presidents of DEEP and DIMTO from all over Greece. In fact, the Academy was held hybrid, both with a live presence and through a digital platform and with the observance of all protocols to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

The focus of the discussion was the leaps and bounds that have been made in the digitization of the state mechanism, the proliferation of available digital services, the latest services, the next steps to be taken and how they affect the daily lives of citizens.

The secretary of PE ND Pavlos Marinakis, during his speech thanked the Minister of State and Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis for his presence, pointing out that “he has performed and will continue to perform an emblematic work. Within two and a half years, we have been able to implement a plan to meet complex challenges and provide solutions to the daily problems faced by citizens in their dealings with the state. , queues are shrinking dramatically and new applications are being created or upgraded, giving new possibilities to individuals and businesses, from digital vaccination appointment scheduling systems, digital vaccination certificates and intangible prescriptions to 5G, ktimatologio. gov.gr, the intangible consensual divorce and myKEPlive, Greece is changing level “.

Organizational Secretary Stelios Kontadakis in his greeting said: “What the Ministry of Digital Government has accomplished is a digital revolution, a digital miracle. The work of the Ministry makes our daily life and our life much easier.”

“We are now able to implement not only the necessary digital projects, but also the desired ones”

During his speech, the Minister of State and Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis noted characteristically: “In 2019 Kyriakos Mitsotakis and New Democracy pledged to meet the mandate of the citizens which was” build a state “- a modern, flexible, digital state. We carry out this mandate every day, implementing the plan we had drawn up under the supervision of the Prime Minister, and we can say that in the last two and a half years Greece has been recording a significant digital progress, a progress that is reflected in numbers in the daily life of citizens.

It is characteristic that the digital transactions of the citizen with the state record an exponential increase: from 8.8 million in 2018 and 34 million in 2019, in 2020 we exceeded 94 million and last year, in 2021, we reached 567 million. These numbers translate into a corresponding number of physical visits to public services that did not have to be made. On average, each adult avoided waiting for about 60 public service queues last year.

2022 is the year when digital progress will begin to meet the implementation of major IT projects. Through the Recovery Fund, we are now able to implement not only the necessary digital projects, but also the desired ones, so that very soon Greece has changed its page once and for all. For this reason, in addition to further progress in digitization and simplification of procedures, this year we are going to auction 90% of the digital projects included in the “Greece 2.0” Plan.

Congratulations to New Democracy for its intensive actions regarding the training and information of the executives. At a time when politics is becoming more and more measurable, it is especially important for political parties to have executives who know the issues in depth. This helps them to respond more fully to public debates, but at the same time it helps us to become better, listening to problems and suggestions that we may not have thought of.

In this context, I am confident that the initiative of the new secretary Pavlos Marinakis for the political academies of New Democracy will be another step forward for New Democracy, the government and the public debate in general “.
