Mrs. Mitsotakis: ‘We will exhaust the fiscal margins to face the invasion of inflation’

The government will continue to exhaust the fiscal margins in order to deal with the invasion of inflation that causes insecurity, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed after the meeting at the offices of the Kefallinian Vice-region in Argostoli, which he presided over.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the Economy in our country is developing at a rapid pace, while he also emphasized the fact that there is a great response from the citizens for the Fuel Pass 2 that was opened yesterday. In fact, speaking about this specific issue, the Prime Minister noted that there is a great need for support for citizens and emphasized the consistency, as he said, of the government, which has the technological tools so that citizens can register their information transparently.

Regarding the Argostoli – Poros road axis, Mr. Mitsotakis expressed the certainty, as he said characteristically, that the specific project will be completed with great speed, noting that its budget exceeds 50 million euros. He also announced that interventions will be made in other parts of the road network so that there is safe access to the island’s beaches.

“We will move as quickly as we can to heal wounds” pointed out the prime minister and announced that a flexible, as he described it, committee is being set up under the deputy minister to the prime minister for State Aid and Rehabilitation from Natural Disasters Christos Triandopoulos, which will deal specifically with the Kefalonia and Ithaca.

“I am happy to return to an island I used to visit when I was younger and have important memories. Important work is being done here, we are healing the wounds of the past, facing unprecedented disasters and laying the foundations for sustainable development,” said the Prime Minister and referred to his visit to the Argostoli General Hospital, announcing the operation of the Intensive Care Unit. “I want to thank the staff who kept the hospital standing during the coronavirus pandemic. The ICU will be operational, while the entire reconstruction and landscaping will be able to be included in the Recovery Fund,” added Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

After the meeting in the Vice-region, the Prime Minister visited the port and was informed about the restoration works being carried out there and will then depart to return to Athens.
