The Japanese lens maker Miyazaki, who produces small batches of hand-built lenses under the MS Optics brand, has created a new model, the Sonnetar 50mm F1.3, designed for cameras with the Leica M mount. Like almost all Miyazaki designs, this is a very compact lens: with a diameter of 49 mm and With a length of 36 mm, it weighs only 123 g, or 140 g including the lens hood. As the name suggests, the lens is based on the Sonnar optical scheme. It includes five elements in four groups.
