MSI has unveiled the MSI Radeon RX 6600 MECH 2X graphics card, addressed to “a wide range of enthusiastic gamers.”

At the heart of the PCIe 4.0 x8 graphics card is AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture, which provides “the optimal balance of performance and energy efficiency.” The description of the card, which the manufacturer refers to as a mid-range, noted 32 MB of high-performance AMD Infinity cache, 8 GB of GDDR6 memory, AMD Smart Access Memory and other advanced features. Specifically, the open source AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution support for spatial scaling and frame rate increases is mentioned.
The GPU with 28 compute units operates at up to 2044 MHz (Game) or 2491 MHz (Boost). The memory speed is 14 Gbps. The memory is connected to a 128-bit bus. The card is equipped with three DisplayPort v1.4 outputs and one HDMI 2.1 output supporting 4K video at 120Hz, 8K at 60Hz and VRR. All four video outputs can be used simultaneously.
Power consumption is quoted as 132 W. Additional power is supplied to one 8-pin connector. The dimensions of the card are 235 x 125 x 46 mm.

The card features an MSI Mech cooling system with Torx Fan 3.0 fans that create high static pressure. The fans are turned on only when necessary, so the card runs almost silently under light load. The manufacturer calls this feature Zero Frozr. MSI Afterburner is used to change settings and overclock.
The new video card should go on sale today. The manufacturer does not quote the price.
