MSI has announced the launch of its Spatium series of solid state drives. The lineup was opened by the M480, M470 and M370 models. All of them are made in the M.2 2280 form factor, so they are equally well suited for installation in desktops and laptops.

The M480 and M470 are PCIe Gen 4 and NVMe 1.4 compliant. Another common feature of the M480 and M470 is the presence of a DRAM buffer. The M480 claims a maximum data transfer rate of 7000 MB / s sequential read and 6850 MB / s sequential write. The performance reaches 650,000 IOPS in read mode and 700,000 IOPS in write mode. This drive will be available in three sizes: 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. The resource is 350, 700 and 1400 TBW, respectively.

In the case of the M470, the maximum speed in sequential read mode is declared equal to 5000 MB / s, in sequential write mode – 4400 MB / s, and performance in read and write modes reaches 600,000 IOPS. This model will be available in 1 TB and 2 TB sizes. Their resource is 1600 and 3300 TBW, respectively.

The M370 is the entry-level PCIe Gen3 model. It comes in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities. The resource is 200, 400, 800 and 1600 TBW. In the case of these SSDs, sequential read speeds reach 2400 MB / s, sequential write speeds up to 1850 MB / s, read performance reaches 220,000 IOPS, and write performance reaches 350,000 IOPS.
All models use SLC caching. In addition, all Spatium SSDs support error correction features such as LPDC ECC and E2E Data Protection. They are covered by a five-year warranty.
