Nobuaki Kobayashi, trustee of the MtGox hacked in 2014, has published a document on preparations for refunding funds to users affected by the hack.
Nobuyaki Kobayashi asked users to register on a special page and fill out documents with payment details. He also offered to receive a refund in one payment or in several. In addition, users can receive part of the funds in BTC or BCH.
At the moment, the exact date when MtGox users will start receiving refunds has not been determined. However, Kobayashi said that new refund applications will be accepted from the end of August until the end of the payment process.
Recall that due to the hack, the MtGox exchange lost about 850,000 BTC, of which 750,000 belonged to the site’s clients. Management subsequently reported a “discovery” of 200,000 BTC. It is with these funds that it is planned to reimburse users for losses, because since then the bitcoin rate has grown many times.
Earlier, Bits.Media published a large-scale material with an analysis of the entire situation around MtGox.
