Mummified spouses, the boys who entered the villa: “We shed light in the corridor, the most chilling vision of our life”

They did not climb over the gate, but they entered from another point of the villa that define more “shelled” even if open. For the first time the boys speak, they are called Nicola and Nicolò, who on March 15 found the mummified bodies of Marco Steffenoni, a former dentist, and Maria Teresa Nizzola, 75 and 76 years old, In their villa in Monte Ricco, a hilly area above Parona, on the border between the municipality of Verona and that of Negrar.

They told what happened that day on the “Urbex Squad” YouTube channel that usually follows the stories of those who do Urbex, the urban exploration of abandoned structures. Nicola explains that he lives near the villa, that he started making Urbex last September and having entered that park already in January. Nicolò has been exploiting for more than six years.

This is the story of Nicola who thought that the place was abandoned. «On the street there were a lot of accumulated and scattered letters. When I arrived in front of the villa I noticed three suspicious things. First of all the two cars in the garage, strange because they were recent cars not abandoned too much. In front of the villa I looked inside the windows and saw many flies. I then pointed the torch, for what I could see, on an armchair I noticed that there was something not identifiable, it seemed to me a dog ».

The boy did not think that there could also be people remembering the sign “attentive to the dog”. A week later he entered and four times in the property. When he told about the discovery near his house in Nicolò they agreed to return. Here he begins to tell Nicolò: “We arrived at the entrance, typical of an abandoned house, there was an external light on, a strange thing. Inside the house everything was perfect but full of cobwebs, there was the layer. We immediately thought that nothing had been moving for months». Nicola had hypothesized that the house was abandoned from August 2024 because there were documents with that date in the machines.

«It was an afternoon of Saturday 15 March and was diluting. We entered the flap holder of a balcony. We immediately understood that there was something wrong. We simply sniffed and that was enough. I felt a smell that in my life I had heard a few times. We had the masks but we struggled to stay inside the place. It was irressable. We entered the most far away from the two bodies and as we went on the smell it intensified. The house was full of flies, many even death on the ground ».

“We went on to the corridor,” says Nicola, “I pointed the light and there I had the most chilling vision of my life: his body on the ground, in the bedroom, on the belly down, on the floor. I thought there was something wrong with that house, but never expect such a thing ».

The boys returned to the balcony to breathe and then returned. They opened all the windows before arriving to open the door and let the girl of one of them enter. “On the ground floor the smell was much stronger. Own unbearable. We went to the room where the alleged dog was. Let’s see this armchair with this completely mummified shape, seated in an armchair with a dress from home, a dressing gown. The man was able to recognize, nothing was recognized for her. He had his shoes alongside how he had just removed them. Nor the skeleton, nor the skin, only the hair was seen. “

The boys did not make a video, after a few hours they called the police. We did them as a guide. «They were kind and understanding considering the situation. They unloaded the gate. On the table there were bills of October 2024. We made the minutes with our statements. The scientific truck came as in a film. We called the police for these people and the agents thanked us because they wondered when they never found them ».

They stayed there from three in the afternoon until 11 in the evening. They say they have not had repercussions. One of the two boys is the person he called when the presence of thieves has been reported. He lives in the area and says he has never seen the couple one of the two boys and not even a car entering there. The house was full of books with many references to the church.
