Municipal guard is caught punching a driver in Rio de Janeiro; watch video

A video that went viral this Wednesday (14) on social networks shows a municipal guard punching a driver in Rio de Janeiro. (see video below)

In the pictures, the man is being assaulted while inside the car. After a few moments, with the driver already out of the vehicle and under protests from the people around, the guard walks away and leaves the place running.

In a note, the Municipal Guard of Rio reported that the agent communicated that he approached the vehicle, as it would be parked at a bus stop, that is, an irregular place. Still according to the guard, there was only one teenager in the car, who identified herself as the owner’s daughter. He would have informed, then, that he applied the fine.

“Also according to the guard’s report, the driver then arrived, questioned the action, threw a punch at him and entered the vehicle. The agent gave a voice of arrest, but in the face of the man’s refusal and resistance, he tried to remove him from the car and also struck blows against the driver “, says the note.

The Municipal Guard also adds that the agent stated that he left the place “to prevent being attacked or lynched”. The corporation also highlighted that he was removed from the streets for investigation and that the occurrence is being registered.

In a note, the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, the occurrence was recorded as bodily injury and contempt. “The municipal guard was heard and steps are underway to locate the driver”, scored the corporation.
