The murder of eight-year-old Narin Guran has shocked Turkey, with inquiries into the identity of the perpetrators and the motive for the heinous crime remaining unanswered. The eight-year-old girl had disappeared on August 21 in the Baglar district of Diyarbakir, Southeast Turkey, and was found dead on the morning of Sunday, September 9, at the edge of a stream in a sack, wearing the clothes she was wearing when she was last seen before she disappeared, covered with stones and branches.
