Murder Rossella Nappini, who is Adil Harrati, the ex-companion arrested

Adil Harrati is the name of the man suspected of killing nurse Rossella Nappini, 52, his ex-girlfriend. He is accused of voluntary homicide aggravated by premeditation. 45 years old, originally from Morocco, Harrati works as construction worker. He lives in Rome about 10 years ago and has worked various jobs, including the itinerant seller in flea markets. He met Rossella Nappini just as she was carrying out renovation work in the building where the victim lived. The relationship would not last long: the woman would soon decide to interrupt it.

Adil Harrati was traced to his home, in the Torrevecchia area, where he lives with some compatriots who are unrelated to the affair. No blood-stained clothing or the murder weapon were found in the apartment.

Rossella Nappini was stabbed to death, shortly after leaving the house to withdraw cash from an ATM. The victim’s mother contributed to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator, signaling her presence in the vicinity of the building where the two women lived. The old woman would have seen Harrati flee from the building.

The exact dynamics of the murder have not yet been clarified: the nurse may have been killed after an argument or in a planned ambush down to the smallest detail. It is not known if she and the man left the building together or if he waited in the entrance hall to set a deadly ambush for her.

The victim’s aunt said Rossella Nappini was on her way to the post office to get money and that she was attacked shortly after leaving the house. He tried to defend himselfbut the killer hit her at least twenty times, causing wounds all over her body.

The boy who found the woman’s body is a medical student who lives in the same building. He was at home studying when he heard screams: “I immediately looked out the window, there were two women in the internal courtyard,” he explained to Corriere della Sera. «I got out and recognized Rossella’s mother, who was asking to call for help. I immediately went to see what was going on. When I saw her on the ground in a pool of blood, from the seriousness of the wounds I understood that there was nothing more that could be done. So I called the police.”

Today the hearing to validate the detention of Adil Harrati, who is now on a precautionary basis in the Regina Coeli prison, should take place.
