The show “Rita Lee – A Musical Autobiography ” sold 18,796 tickets and sold out all sessions at Teatro Porto, in the central region of São Paulo. The play goes on display this Friday (26th), and the season runs until July 7th.
In total, there will be 37 performances for 508 spectators each and, so far, there are no plans for new seasons for the show in the capital of São Paulo.
Directed by Marcio Macena and Déboraa Dubois, the actress from Rio Grande do Sul Mel Lisboa 42, plays São Paulo singer Rita Lee (1947-2023).
Recently, Lisboa highlighted that she has lost weight and has been trying to look as much like Rita Lee as possible, in mannerisms, movements, speech, but that she will not imitate or cosplay.
This is the second time she will play Rita Lee. In 2014, she played the role in the show “Rita Mora ao lado”, which was seen by the singer twice.
Also in the cast of the musical are Bruno Fraga (who plays Roberto de Carvalho), Fabiano Augusto, Carol Portes, Debora Reis, Flavia Strongolli, Yael Pecarovich, Antonio Vanfill, Gustavo Rezê and Roquildes Junior.
Widower of Rita Lee, Carvalho watched some rehearsals of the show, praised the performances and moved the actors to emotion with his presence.
The show is edited, scripted and researched by Guilherme Samora, inspired by the book “Rita Lee – An Autobiography”, in which the singer spoke openly about her personal and professional life.
