A fierce fight has broken out in the last few days on social media between Elon Musk and the Donald Trumpon the occasion of the non-completion of his purchase Twitter by the American billionaire.
It all started on Saturday, when the former US president, during a speech in Alaska, declared that “Elon is not going to buy Twitter. Who did you learn this from? From me. He has messed them up. He said he has never voted Republican. I did not know. He told me that he had voted for me. He’s just another nonsense artist.”
So Musk, via tweet, said that “I don’t hate him…but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail off into the sunset».
Also, in a new post, he noted that “Trump would be 82 years old at the end of his term, which is too old to be CEO of anything, much less the US. If DeSandis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSandis will win easily — he doesn’t even have to campaign.”
Donald Trump did not leave the above unaddressed and wrote on Truth Social that “when Mr Elon Musk had come to the White House asking for my help about all his subsidized projects, whether it was electric cars that don’t go far, driverless cars that crash, or rockets that go nowhere, projects that without the subsidies would be worthless, telling me he was a big fan of mine and Republican, i could have told him “get on your knees and beg” and he would have done it…”.
It is noted that the “apple of strife” according to the American media is not actually Twitter, but Musk’s support for Ron DeSandiswho is considered the Trump’s main rival for the leadership of the Republican Party.
