“My dear, you are under arrest”: see the arrest of a fugitive for robbery who had 10 profiles on the internet

“Speak, my dear, okay? Put your hand up there, please. She drops the sledgehammer, lifts her blouse. His name is Lucas, right? It worked, you know, right?” This was the approach of civil police officers in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro to a suspect in a robbery in Pernambuco.

Lucas Franco da Silva was found in a high-end condominium in Recreio dos Bandeirantes after intense monitoring of not one, not two, but ten of the fugitive's social networks.

In the images obtained by CNN he appears working on a project on the floor of a swimming pool.

Silva had been on the run since 2018, with an outstanding preventive arrest warrant from the Pernambuco Court.

According to the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, he was hiding in the Gardênia Azul community, in the west zone of the city, today the scene of a conflict over territorial control between the militia and drug traffickers.

The arrest was made last Monday (8), after the police discovered that Lucas used the name “Douglas”, which made it difficult to cross-reference data and identify him.

During the approach, the suspect appears wearing long pants, a long-sleeved t-shirt, a hat and glasses. The police ask him to lift his shirt and compare the tattoo on his chest with the image they had of the suspect.
