‘My heart is broken’ says Nick Carter after Aaron’s death

Aaron Carter’s older brother Nick is heartbroken after The Singer’s death at age 34he wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, saying that despite their “complicated relationship,” his love for Carter “has never faded.”

“I always had the hope that he would somehow, someday, want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help he desperately needed.” wrote Nick Carter, member of the Backstreet Boys, in a caption alongside photos of the brothers over the years..

“Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is, addiction and mental illness are the real villains here.”

“I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know,” he added. “I love you Chizz, now you have a chance to finally have some peace that you could never find here on Earth…. God, please take care of my little brother.”

Nick Carter’s statement on Sunday comes after a source close to the family told CNN on Saturday that Carter, who found stardom as a boy with songs like “I Want Candy” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq”, was found dead in his bathtub.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told CNN who responded to a call for help at Carter’s home in Lancaster, California on Saturday morning at around 11 am local time, where a deceased person was found.

“My funny and sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and me, and I promise to cherish them. I know you are at peace now. I will take you with me until the day I die and I can see you again.”

The singer has been transparent in the past about his struggles with mental health, but once denied having substance abuse problems in an interview with CNN.

Carter has sometimes had a rocky relationship with his brothers: in 2019, Nick announced that he and Angel filed a restraining order against your brother, saying in a statement that his younger brother allegedly harbored “intentions to kill my wife and my unborn child.” Aaron Carter denied the accusationssaying that he did not wish to harm anyone.
