“My Lady Jane”: new period fantasy series gets trailer; look

The first official trailer for the series “My Lady Jane” was released this Tuesday (21) by Prime Video . The production takes place in a fantasy world set during the Tudor dynasty in England.

The eight episodes of the series' first season arrive on the streaming platform in June 27th .

The series is inspired by the best-selling book of the same name, which imagines a retelling of English history in which King Henry VIII's son, Edward, does not die of tuberculosis and Lady Jane Gray is not beheaded along with her husband, Guildford.

In real life, the young Tudor noblewoman was Queen of England for just nine days before being beheaded in 1553.

In this story, the protagonist Lady Jane escapes death and assumes the crown, while at the same time being targeted by enemies who want to take the throne.

First-time actress Emily Bader plays Jane Gray and Edward Bluemel plays her husband Guildford Dudley. Jordan Peters plays King Edward; Dominic Cooper plays Lord Seymour; Anna Chancellor plays Jane's mother, Lady Frances Gray; Rob Brydon plays Lord Dudley, Guildford's father; and Jim Broadbent plays the Duke of Leicester, Jane's uncle.

The cast also includes Henry Ashton, Isabella Brownson, Robyn Betteridge, Kate O'Flynn, Abbie Hern, Máiréad Tyers, Joe Klocek and Michael Workeye.
