Mysten Labs reported that their Discord server was hacked

Mysten Labs, the developer of the Sui blockchain, has warned users about their Discord server being hacked. It is not yet known if the attackers made any profit.

Mysten Labs has urged users not to click on any links posted on Discord in the last 8 hours. Now the company is investigating the incident and is trying to regain access to the server.

“Urgently! Our Discord server has been hacked. Please do not click on links posted within the last 8 hours. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience,” the developers said.

The hackers used a standard scheme – they published a message on the Discord server with a fake distribution of SUI tokens. They provided a link to a site where they offered to receive tokens in their wallet.

When signing the transaction, the hackers requested full rights to actions with the wallet and could gain access to the assets at this address. The site is no longer available.

Hackers often break into the Discord servers of various cryptocurrency projects, especially in the field of collectible tokens (NFTs). At the end of July, TRM Labs reported that the community had lost $22 million due to these hacks.
