Mystery in Space: The Russians put an unknown object in orbit

A cluster of three Russian satellites, launched this year, has raised questions between space analysts, as one of them released an unknown object in orbit. The satellites, named Kosmos 2581, 2582 and 2583, were launched on February 2 with a Soyuz-2.1V rocket from the Cosmot of Pschetsk, while their mission remains unclear. In March, satellites appear to have executed proximity operations, maneuvering near other objects in space, according to Astrophysicist and Space Analyst Jonathan McDowell. Subsequently, on March 18, the US space power recorded a new orbit object, which was probably released by the Kosmos 2581 satellite. According to metro.co.uk, Russia has given no official explanation to satellites or the new object that appeared on track.
