A leading investor in China has disappeared, as confirmed by his company. China Renaissance Holdings. Bao Fan has not given any signs of life in the past few days.
According to the BBC, Bao Fan is one of the leaders investors in China with technology company clients such as Didi and Meituan.
Shares in China Renaissance fell 50% on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Friday after it said it had “not been able to get in touch with him”.

“There is no knowledge or information to indicate that Mr. Bao’s absence is or may be related to the company’s activities,” the statement added.
The company has not specified how long Bao Fan has been missing. Caixin website cites sources as saying that his associates have not been able to get in touch with him for the past two days.
Bao founded China Renaissance in 2005 initially as a consulting firm but has since become one of the leading financial institutions in China.
