Mystery with the disappearance of a young girl in New York: Fears that she fell victim to sex trafficking and is now dead

When an elderly man promised 18-year-old (then) Corinna Slusser a new life in New York, the former cheerleader left her small town on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania, USA, telling her mom “not to worry.”

But after the teenager arrived in New York, he was reportedly quickly trapped in a circuit sex trafficking in the Bronx, according to the New York Post.

Pictures of her were circulated online for paid sex ads and her body was sold in noisy hotel rooms by a notorious pimp who was accused of beating his workers and stealing their money.

However, the horrors that Slusser may have suffered at the hands of the pimp and a convicted sex trafficker pale in comparison to what her mother fears has happened to her. That is, to be dead.

The emotional face to face with the pimp in court

Less than two months after the teen arrived in Gotham in 2017, disappeared xno trace of a Queens motel where rooms are rented by the hour. Slusser’s mother, Sabina Tuorto, says she has no idea where her child may be.

The girl’s mother was confronted by her daughter’s pimp in an emotional confrontation in court but was left without answers. “Is she dead or alive? “Who is the last person he handed her over to?” Tuorto said in a shocking statement from the victim during the sentencing of trafficker Ishi Woney in 2019.

The then 24-year-old convict said unexpectedly: “Honestly, I do not know.”

Woney is now behind bars, as is one of Slusser’s other alleged pimps, who was sentenced last month to two years in prison for promoting prostitution and drugs.

“Four years have passed,” the mother noted.

“But I still must not give up,” he said. “Everyone tells me there’s a chance he’s out there. I live from this. “I just pray to God and keep trying to have faith.”

In April 2017, while still in Bloomsburg, Schlusser attempted suicide by swallowing 50 Tylenol tablets, loved ones said. By the summer, she was drinking and taking drugs frequently, was fired from her job and was taking cash from sugar daddies she met at Seeking Arrangements, according to her friends and police.

So when an old man living a fast-paced life in New York offered her a place to stay at the Big Apple in August, she agreed, telling her mom she would be fine.

“It’s very common for teens to be trapped by someone who throws them stars in the sky and the teen may be looking for love; and he or she may also feel that the parents just don’t understand him or her,” said Lori Cohen, the group’s CEO. against child sexual trafficking ECPAT-USA.

“Traffickers are very good at smelling this,” said Cohen, who has spent decades working with sex trafficking survivors.

The last time someone saw the girl alive was in 2017

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

“You just have to promise me that when you’re done you will give me every dollar and you will let me give it to you. [ό,τι] you need to buy your clothes and you will let me do the rest “. The pimp wrote to Slusser in messages read in court.

Slusser had already contacted a new pimp, Ishi Woney, convicted of sex trafficking.

On September 4, 2017, Slusser closed a room in a hotel in the Bronx known for trafficking in his rooms with Woney meeting her at some point there, according to court records.

Between September 10 and 20, the trafficker also exchanged more than 800 text messages with the teenager and posted prostitution ads with photos of her.

On Sept. 20, the last day Slusser was seen alive, she had a fight with Woney when one of his other victims of sex trafficking became jealous of their relationship, according to court records.
