Mytilineos: Applications for the 6th round of the ‘Engineers in Action’ program are now open

The successful paid internship program of MYTILINEOS “Engineers in Practice” reaches its 6th cycle. Young and new graduates of polytechnic schools are invited to register their participation from today until July 24, if they wish to participate and work in one of the leading companies in Greece.

The “Engineers in Practice” program is one year long and offers high-level work experience, with real-life apprenticeships and projects. The Engineers, depending on their specialty, are employed in projects of the Company’s Business Activity Sectors (Metallurgy, Electricity & Natural Gas, Sustainable Development Projects and Development of Renewable Sources & Energy Storage), as well as in Central Services and Operations.

Since the beginning of the program in 2014 until today, 109 young “Engineers in Practice” have participated. The company’s goal remains to make the program a point of reference for polytechnic graduates starting their working careers.

48 engineers joined the 5th cycle of the program which started in November 2021 and is ongoing – the largest number of engineers to join the program to date.

Connecting education with the labor market is a complex process, especially today where there is a lack of qualified workers, despite the many opportunities created by the recovery of the Greek economy. One of the factors leading to this result is the non-matching of the skills of the candidate employees with the needs of modern entrepreneurship and, secondarily, the flight of young professionals abroad (brain drain).

In this context, the “Engineers in Practice” Program comes to meet this need, highlighting the importance of paid practical work programs. The General Director of Human Resources of MYTILINEOS Sara Fidelis said on the occasion of the start of the 6th cycle: “We are particularly proud to revive the institution of apprenticeship in real working conditions. The work experience gained by the participants emphasizes both hard and soft acquisition skills and the high absorption in the labor market, justifies our choice”.

The applications for the 6th cycle of the “Engineers in Action” Program have started and those interested can submit their resumes until Sunday, July 24, on the website http://engineersinaction.mytilineos.gr/en
