The President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis is in Montenegro for a two-day official visit. Arriving late last night in the Montenegrin capital, Podgorica, President Anastasiadis, accompanied by his wife Andri Anastasiadis, was received by Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic.
This morning, Mr. Anastasiadis will be officially received at the Presidential Palace by the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, with whom he will have a private meeting. They will then attend extended talks, headed by the two countries’ delegations. During the enlarged talks, the topics to be discussed are bilateral relations, developments in the Cyprus issue and the ongoing Turkish challenges to the Republic of Cyprus, the situation in Ukraine and EU-Montenegro relations. The two Presidents will then make statements.
In the evening, the President of Montenegro and his wife will host a formal dinner in honor of the President of the Republic and his wife. Tomorrow morning, the President of the Republic will meet with the Prime Minister of the country Zdravko Krivokapić. Later he will visit the old town of Kotor, and then he will be guided to the Maritime Museum and the marina in the port of Tivat.
The President of the Republic is accompanied in Montenegro by Government Spokesman Marios Pelekanos, the Deputy Minister under the President Kyriakos Kousios, the Deputy Minister of Shipping Vassilis Dimitriadis, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Montenegro, based in Belgrade and Thegrios Thefios.
