N. Androulakis: We will not allow the country to function again with eras that we closed in the history’s time cabinet

In an open speech in Vatolakkos, Chania, Nikos Androulakis identified the case of the attempt to trap his mobile phone as a matter of the proper functioning of the Republic.

“It is a matter of democracy that no one, neither the state nor the oligarch, can blackmail any businessman, judge or politician. Because I am impressed by the anxiety of Mr. Mitsotakis and Maximos to downplay the attempt to trap the mobile phone of an MEP, then a candidate for its leader third parliamentary party and current president of the faction. How is it possible that New Democracy, in the last few hours, bombards the people with so much fake news to degrade the issue?”

The President of PASOK-Movement of Change deconstructed the arguments of executives of New Democracy and the Government Representative that the use of this software is commonplace. “14 million euros makes a “predator” and not everyone can have it to set such traps. 250 MEPs’ mobile phones and dozens of their colleagues’ mobile phones have been checked, no trace was found on any of them, except mine. And this will it is now a European issue, which Mr. Mitsotakis will be called upon to answer, because we will not allow our country to operate again with times that, with the struggle of the country’s democrats, we closed in the history closet. I do not expect the EYP to says he doesn’t have the “predator”. I’m waiting for him to tell us who in Greece has it to blackmail journalists and politicians. And let those who cover these dark forces be sure, that because it’s above all a matter of democracy and transparency, we will fight to reveal them”.

Mr. Androulakis added that “until the day before yesterday we were hearing Mr. Tsipras say that PASOK has found peace with New Democracy. Today we hear Mr. Mitsotakis saying that because of the “predator” we have found peace with SYRIZA. They probably wish both of us, let’s get along with their opponent to certify that we are a tool in their hands. So I tell them today that we are not a tool in their hands. We are the weapon of the Greek people that will destroy this vicious bipartisanship, which produces discord and toxicity at the expense of the public interest”.

“I am waiting for the Justice to show us exactly what is happening. But I want our political opponents to understand that my institutional behavior and low tones do not show that we are vulnerable. They show that we are serious and ready to take the helm of the country in our hands. Because the country cannot be a game of Mr. Mitsotakis’s group and Mr. Tsipras’s group. Because today, if what happened to me happened to them, they would have led the country to a new division. So we promote transparency, meritocracy, democracy and we want clear answers. Our identity is the one that shows the beacon of great change,” Mr. Androulakis pointed out.

The President of PASOK-Movement of Change, referring to the massive and crowded gathering in Vatolakkos, Chania, called on democratic citizens to take the faction into their own hands. “PASOK became great when it was a people’s movement, a shield for the vulnerable and the small and medium-sized. Fight every day in society, against the media that support this vicious bipartisanship. Against their populism and elitism. Let’s regenerate the democratic faction and give again the prospect of social justice and national dignity for all Greek women and men. Good fight and good strength. And be sure that on the night of the next national elections, PASOK will be the big winner. PASOK-Change Movement returns as protagonist in the political foreground of the country to send an answer to those who want our country a society of low opportunities” concluded Mr. Androulakis.

The President of PASOK-Movement of Change emphasized the need to draw up a comprehensive plan so that the inflexible expenses of each household for health, housing and children’s education are reduced.

At the forefront of the Movement’s agenda was the social housing program to offer cheap rental housing to students and young couples.

Regarding the increased production costs of the farmers, Mr. Androulakis insisted that part of the cost of supplies and animal feed should be covered, a ceiling should be imposed on the retail price of electricity and the tax on fuel should be returned based on the consumption of each farm.
