During his stay in Madrid, the Foreign Minister will be received by Meritxell Batet, President of the House of Representatives (Lower House). He will also have a meeting with the chairman and members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives.
Afterwards, Nikos Dendias will have a private meeting with his Spanish counterpart. Following the end of the one-on-one meeting and the extended talks, joint statements to the press are scheduled to take place at around 16:45 (Greek time).
The talks are expected to cover the strengthening of bilateral co-operation and co-ordination between the two countries, especially in the EU, with a view to Spain taking over the EU Council Presidency in July 2023, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
