N. Dendias in the Italian Parliament on the challenges in Greece and Europe and the Turkish aggression

At the end of his meeting in Rome with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Parliament Piero Fassino and its members, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said: “It was important that I had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Fassino, the President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Italian Parliament and then to address the members of the Committee and answer their questions.I was able to develop the Greek positions on the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Aegean on the Turkish aggression and the “Europe’s challenges. I think a common ground has been reached through the debate on how issues can be resolved. But of course the challenges are always ahead of us and a constant effort is needed to address them.”

Referring to the meeting he had earlier with the Secretary of State (Prime Minister) of the Holy See Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Nikos Dendias said that they discussed the preparation of Pope Francis’ visit to Greece and reviewed the conditions in the wider region and the wider Western Balkans. “I had the pleasure and honor to be received by Cardinal Parolin, the Prime Minister of the Holy See, with whom we discussed the preparation of Pope Francis’ visit to Greece. Of course, we had the opportunity to review the situation in the wider region. “Eastern Mediterranean and the Western Balkans. Areas of interest to the Holy See,” he said.
