The situation in Ukraine after the Russian invasion and the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Cyprus, the Middle East, as well as the Western Balkans are expected to be the focus of today’s meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, with his Dutch counterpart, Vopke (Wopke Hoekstra), in Athens. The talks will also cover the rapidly growing bilateral relations in a wide range of areas, as well as co-operation between the two countries in the EU, NATO, the UN and other international organizations.
The private meeting of Messrs. Dendia and Houkstra will start at 11:15 at the Foreign Ministry and extended talks will follow. The joint statements to the press are expected to take place around 12:05.
A statement from the Foreign Ministry said that the Dutch Foreign Minister’s visit to Greece is part of the regular contacts between the two sides, followed by the visit of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to the Netherlands in 2019, and the visit of the Dutch Foreign Minister.
